Welcome

Hey, I'm Luke. I make music that doesn't try to be anything it's not — no polish to hide behind, no stories that aren't mine.

After forty years of playing, I've learned that the songs worth writing are the ones that scare you a little. The ones about the hard stuff. The quiet stuff. The stuff you think nobody else feels — until they hear it and say "me too."

That's why I do this. Welcome to my little corner of the world.

Full Bio

Some musicians write songs to be heard. Luke de Leseleuc writes songs because he has to.

Born in St. Jean Sur-Richelieu, Quebec, and now rooted on Vancouver Island, BC, Luke has spent four decades living the kind of life that fills up a song — sometimes beautifully, sometimes painfully, always honestly.

His music sits in the space where pop meets rock and real life meets the page. It tugs at you. It makes you think. It has a way of finding exactly the feeling you didn't know you needed to hear someone else put into words.

Luke's musical journey has taken him through bands Full House, OWB, and Torn'n Fraid, and to stages across North America. One of his most cherished memories: sharing the stage with harmonica legend Darrell Mansfield on Memorial Day 2008, playing to 30,000 people at Ocean Beach, California. A moment he'll never forget.

Twenty-four years ago I got sober, and the songs changed — less about escaping, more about telling the truth. House of Broken Doors is the record I've been trying to write my whole life: every door I kicked down, every one I finally walked through on purpose.

I write from Vancouver Island, play whenever there's a room and a mic, and I still think the best songs are the honest ones. This is where I put those..
